How does the transfer system work in My Legacy?
My Legacy has no hard caps on transfers. There is no rule saying a fifth-tier player cannot receive a top-flight offer — realism comes from soft probability multipliers instead, so shock moves are rare but genuinely possible. Each window runs a six-stage pipeline: does a window open at all, how visible are you, which leagues notice you, how many, which clubs within them, and what they offer. The single most important number is your Player Market Visibility (PMV), and the single most important thing about it is that from age 29 onward your potential counts for nothing — you are only your current ability.
Getting zero offers in a window feels like a bug. It is not. Here is exactly what the game is doing.
Stage 0 — does a window even open?
Before any club looks at you, the game decides whether you are on the market at all. This is probabilistic and depends on your age, contract status, rating and visibility.
- Under 18s: at most a 55% chance of a window opening.
- Very old players: under 12%.
- Free agents and expiring contracts: always open.
So a quiet season is not always a judgement on your form. Sometimes the window simply did not open.
Stage 1 — Player Market Visibility
PMV is one number, typically 0–150, meaning "how big are you on the radar right now". It is built from weighted components:
| Component | Weight |
|---|---|
| Match rating | (rating − 6.0) × 14 |
| Overall | × 0.45, age-scaled |
| Potential | × 0.35, age-scaled |
| Reputation | × 0.45 |
| Form | × 0.18 |
| Match sharpness | × 0.10 |
| Agent quality + manager network | × 0.20 |
| Position output score | × 0.30 |
Contract status shifts it too: free agent +20, expiring contract +10, three or more years remaining −6. Flags matter as well: requesting a transfer +8, being seen on trial +5, a forced sale +12.
The age curve — read this one carefully
| Age | Overall counts | Potential counts |
|---|---|---|
| 18 and under | 0.7 | 1.2 |
| 19–21 | 0.85 | 1.0 |
| 22–28 | 1.0 | 0.4 |
| 29–32 | 0.95 | 0.0 |
| 33+ | 0.85 | 0.0 |
Under 18, your potential matters more than your current ability — this is why promising kids get moves they have not earned yet. From 29, potential is worth literally nothing. If you were planning to get the big move "once you develop", 29 is the wall.
Stage 2 — which leagues notice you
Each league gets a pull score:
`` LPS = baseAttract × effectiveScouting × tierAttenuation × normalisedPMV ``
Tier attenuation is brutal. 1 / (1 + tierDiff² × 0.45):
| Divisions away | Interest multiplier |
|---|---|
| 1 | 0.69 |
| 2 | 0.38 |
| 3 | 0.22 |
Every division between you and a league roughly halves its interest in you. Climbing happens one step at a time for a reason.
But there is a star clause. A fameFloor of PMV / 200, capped at 0.30, guarantees that a big enough player gets at least 30% visibility even in countries whose clubs barely scout abroad. This is the rule that lets the occasional "world star signs for a mid-tier league" moment happen organically rather than being scripted.
Cross-border scouting
Two separate country levers decide whether foreign clubs see you at all:
- Scouting density — outgoing. How well that country's clubs look abroad.
- Media exposure — incoming. How visible your league's players are to the world.
They are multiplied together, then scaled by proximity: same language group ×1.0, same region ×0.75, otherwise ×0.5. Türkiye is in the turkic language group; Spain, Italy, France, Portugal and Belgium are all latin; England is germanic. Moving within your language group is dramatically easier than jumping across.
Stage 3 — how many leagues bid
K = clamp(round(totalLPS / 25 ± 0.5), 0, 4)
Between zero and four leagues are drawn per window. K = 0 — a completely silent season — is a real, intended outcome, not a bug.
Stage 4 — which clubs within those leagues
`` clubInterest = squadFit × affordability × chemistry × directionMultiplier × noise ``
Squad fit is an asymmetric bell curve, and this is the most interesting part of the whole system. If you are better than the club's squad strength, the curve is forgiving (σ = 22). If you are worse, it is harsh (σ = 12). Practical meaning: a standout 92-overall player in amateur football genuinely can attract top-tier bids. A 40-overall player never will, no matter how long they wait.
Affordability is the club's wage budget divided by your expected salary, clamped between 0.5 and 1.5.
Chemistry is 1 + agentNetwork / 50 — your agent's network directly multiplies every club's interest in you. This is why agent quality is worth paying for.
Direction multiplier penalises dropping down: one tier down is free, but every tier beyond that multiplies interest by 0.4^(steps−1). Falling two or three divisions at once is very hard even when you want to.
Finally, any club below clubInterest = 0.15 is dropped entirely.
Stage 5 — how many offers, and what kind
The cap depends on age: 18-year-olds get 4–6 offers, prime players 4–8, players 35+ get 2. The cap is split between the selected leagues in proportion to their pull scores.
Offers come as transfer, loan, youth_contract, amateur_trial, academy_trial or renewal, with a promised role of star, starter, rotation or academy decided by your age and the gap between your overall and the club's squad strength. Contract language is age-appropriate: 11–15 academy, 16–17 youth contract, 18+ professional.
Negotiation runs in three stances — safe, balanced, aggressive.
Your own club's renewals and free-agent offers take a separate, simpler path: your current club already sees you, so it skips the whole visibility pipeline.
One more thing: it is deterministic
Every roll in the game comes from a seeded random number generator — Math.random() is banned from the codebase. Seeds are hierarchical and derived from your career seed, the season and your club.
Practical meaning: the same career making the same decisions produces the same offers. Your transfer window is not re-rolled behind your back.
How to actually get the move you want
- Move up one division at a time. Two tiers is 0.38× interest, three is 0.22×. The staircase is not decoration.
- Buy the best agent you can afford. Network multiplies every club's interest and feeds PMV directly.
- Let your contract run down if you want options. Expiring is +10 PMV and free agent is +20 — but see the free-agency warning below.
- Move within your language group if you want an easier route abroad, or accept the adaptation penalty if you want the prestige.
- If you are 28, act now. At 29 your potential stops counting entirely. Everything you were saving it for has to happen before then.
- Do not sit unsigned to farm free-agent visibility. Free agency permanently costs you fame — and the recovery rate is capped, so it is mathematically guaranteed to be a net loss.
FAQ
Why did I get no transfer offers in My Legacy?
Either the window did not open — that is probabilistic, and under-18s have at most a 55% chance — or your league pull score was too low to draw any league at all. Getting zero leagues in a window is a real outcome, not a bug.
Can a lower-league player get a top-division offer?
Yes. There are no hard caps in the system. Interest drops sharply with each division of separation (0.69 for one tier, 0.38 for two, 0.22 for three), and the squad-fit curve is forgiving toward players who are better than the club they would join — so an outstanding player in a bad league genuinely can be seen.
Does my age affect transfers in My Legacy?
Heavily. Under 18, potential counts more than current ability. Between 22 and 28 your current overall carries full weight. From 29 onward potential counts for nothing at all, and by 35 you can receive at most two offers per window.
Does the agent matter in My Legacy?
Yes, in two places: agent quality feeds your market visibility directly at a weight of 0.20, and agent network multiplies every club's interest in you by 1 + network / 50.
Is it easier to transfer to a country that speaks my language?
Yes. Cross-border scouting is multiplied by 1.0 within the same language group, 0.75 within the same region, and 0.5 otherwise. Adaptation penalties are also halved within a language group.
Are transfer offers random in My Legacy?
They are generated from a seeded random number generator, so they are deterministic — the same career with the same decisions produces the same offers. The randomness is real but it is not re-rolled behind you.
